Democrats Launch Ad to Highlight Newsday Endorsement

BOHEMIA - Steve Bellone’s campaign for County Executive today launched a radio ad highlighting Babylon Town Supervisor and Democratic Candidate for Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone’s endorsement from Newsday. Suffolk County Democratic Committee Chairman Rich Schaffer announced the ad during a conference call where he also updated the status of Democratic “Get Out the Vote” efforts.
“Steve Bellone is running a strong, grassroots campaign for County Executive,” said Schaffer. “The Suffolk County Democratic Committee has put together an unprecedented effort to elect Steve Bellone and keep a Democratic County Legislature and the statistics for our ‘Get Out the Vote’ weekend are remarkable. Last weekend we knocked on over 55,000 doors and placed another 45,000 phone calls.
“In addition, Steve Bellone continues to earn newspaper endorsements, including Newsday. Recognizing this significant achievement, we are today releasing a new radio ad that will play on stations across the County highlighting Newsday’s decision to help inform voters before their decision at the polls on Tuesday.”

And Newsday praises Steve Bellone’s “under-the-hood tinkering with the Town’s departments to make them more efficient and smaller while maintaining services.”
And “Bellone says he’ll be able to scale up his attention to detail from the Town level to the much larger County government.”
Finally, Newsday concludes, “Bellone has more executive skills, a wider vision, a deep commitment to data-based management, and the drive to translate all of that to action.”
