Suffolk Dems Launch "AngiesAgenda.com"

BOHEMIA – The Suffolk County Democratic Committee today launched a website to highlight Angie Carpenter’s true record of patronage, spending and more bureaucrats.  Rich Schaffer, Chairman of the Suffolk County Democratic Party, announced “AngiesAgenda.com” in a conference call with reporters.
 
“There are twelve days left and we are not going to sit by while Angie Carpenter tries to rewrite her history in County Government,” Schaffer explained.  “As soon as Angie Carpenter was elected Treasurer, she lobbied to add another deputy to her office – a $100,000 plum, patronage job for her political advisor, breaking a campaign promise to operate her office efficiently.
 
“This year she asked for an extra $800,000 to run the Treasurers office.  The County Executive rejected that request because it is clear – to everyone but Angie – that nobody is going to get a 20% increase in their operating budget during these financial times.
 
“Her real ‘solutions for Suffolk’ include multiple bureaucratic studies to find out what Steve Bellone already knows – our costs are too high and we muststreamline government like he has done in Babylon.  But Angie wants a ‘five year financial plan,’ another ‘ten-year capital strategy’ every other year, and also a ‘quarterly financial plan.’”   
 
“Angie Carpenter does not get it and we are launching a website with an ad that highlights what she has done as the County Treasurer.”
 
The website, available at http://www.AngiesAgenda.com, includes a web ad that talks about Angie Carpenter’s record.  The text of the web ad is below:
 
Narrator: Angie Carpenter, County Treasurer - the one that should look out for your tax dollars.
 
But as soon as she was elected, Angie Carpenter requested a $100,000 job for her political advisor.
 
It was denied.
 
And she requested more money each year.
 
This year she asked for $800,000 for nine more jobs.
 
The County said she didn't need them, either.
 
Steve Bellone.  In Babylon he cut spending and cut the debt every year.
